Hiring equipment requires as much planning as finding your location. Getting the right kit for your brief, confirming compatibility, and sorting logistics in advance will save you significant stress on shoot day.
Confirm compatibility with your existing kit
Before booking, check that hired equipment works with what your crew is already bringing. Camera bodies, lens mounts, battery systems, and audio connections all have compatibility requirements. A quick check now saves a problem on the day.
Book early for busy periods
Popular equipment, particularly high-end cameras, specialist lenses, and large lighting rigs, gets booked out quickly around peak production periods. If you have confirmed shoot dates, lock in your equipment hire as early as possible.
Check insurance requirements before you book
Most equipment owners require proof of hire insurance before confirming a booking. If your production doesn't have existing cover, arrange this in advance. Don't leave it to the day before.
Plan your delivery and collection window carefully
