Historic Flaxmill ruin & barn, rustic interiors, garden, stream, outdoor baths

A former flaxmill site featuring a rebuilt rustic barn with a wood-burning stove and living area, alongside an ancient ruin with a water wheel. The property includes a large garden with wildflowers, a stream, beehives, and outdoor bathing facilities, set on the edge of a forest near the Atlantic Ocean.

Flaxmill Bothy a former flaxmill, abandoned for hundreds of years,  is slowly being uncovered by Naomi. There are two stone buildings: the barn has been rebuilt and has a roof over it, and a wood burning stove inside. The other building is still a ruin and even has the remains of the old water wheel lying among the stone archways. There is a half an acre of grassy wildflowers, a stream that runs through the site, and a few beehives. 

Set on the edge of a forest on the North Coast of Ireland, only a mile from the Atlantic Ocean, if you want to be closer to nature, this is the place to do it. A stream runs through the site, birds sing in the trees, and our honeybees hum among the rustling leaves.

It is a magical place that leaves you feeling like you’ve stepped back in time, or stepped sideways through the veil into another world
