Versatile Studio and Gallery Space

The Hirer, its agents, visitors and any associated third parties are not permitted access to any ‘back of house’ areas (including but not limited to the gym and kitchen areas, nor the SWM office desks ) in the Property or any spaces not listed in the schedule. Noise levels in the studios should be kept at a reasonable level. SWM reserves the right to exercise control over the volume of music and the Hirer agrees to comply with all requests to adjust volume levels. Kit, props, cases, and all equipment need to be stored within the space the Hirer has booked. It is strictly forbidden to store additional equipment outside the booked space, or anywhere within the Here East property that is not controlled by SWM unless agreed in writing by SWM’s Studio Manager in writing in advance of the Hire. The Hirer further agrees that any items brought into the Property will not block or obstruct fire exists and escape routes and will keep a path to these exits clear at all times. The Hirer will further not block, obstruct, force or unnecessarily hold open any doors or exists within the wider Here East building, including but not limited to fire door, lift doors and access doors which must be kept closed at all times. The Hirer will ensure to keep all Kit, props, cases, and any and all further equipment stored in a safe manner in any space that is publicly accessible that allows both the Hirer and SWM access to around the building. SWM does not accept liability for loss or damage to any object, equipment, furniture, or any other items or property of any sort brought onto the Property and Here East buildings by the Hirer or their guests or any persons hired by SWM on the Hirer’s behalf however such loss or damage may occur unless as a direct result of SWM’s negligence. All such property will remain under the care and control of the Hirer and is entirely at the Hirer’s own risk. The Hirer must provide a list of names of all the people who will be using the space during the Hire before the start of the Hire. Any changes to the list must be notified 24 hours prior to the booking to SWM. All deliveries must be pre-arranged and booked in with SWM and Here East for agreed time and date periods to specified Here East protocols, at least 48 hours prior to the commencement if the Hire, who will then confirm the booking. Any access requirements outside of regular operating hours will be subject to a separate Fee. Here East reserve the right to refuse any vehicle or delivery if it does not adhere to these guidelines. Any changes to the above require where possible 72 hours’ notice in writing to SWM and it is agreed by the parties that SWM has the final say on any deliveries and this may require the Hirer to rebook at a mutually agreed time. SWM will provide access to a First Aid Box and will endeavor to have a qualified First Aider on the premises; however, we request that all Hirers have a qualified first aider with them where applicable. Groups must designate a safety manager; the Safety Manager will act as Fire Marshall for their personnel in case of Emergency. If you hear the fire alarm sound (an electronic evacuation sounder tone) make your way immediately to the nearest fire exit following the indicated directions and assemble in the yard between the Press Centre and the Broadcast Centre. (Groups to be aware that there is a routine check of alarms in the here east building on Monday morning between 9:00am – 10:00am). Smoking is not permitted anywhere within SWM Property or the Here East Building. There are two outdoor designated smoking areas, marked by planters and smoking bins. Anyone found smoking on the premises will be asked to leave. The use of any real flame, smoking materials or any flammable, hazardous or explosive material, including haze, is prohibited, unless otherwise agreed with SWM. The Hirer agrees to share agreed images, including but not limited to behind the scenes images and any final images generated whilst on the premises that SWM can use on distribute on its website and social media channels. The Hirer understands that certain work’s (‘the Artwork’) are on display within the Property and under no circumstances can they be filmed, photographed or used in any visual capacity. If the Hire is to take place in an area containing the Artwork SWM shall, if requested, arrange for the removal of said Artwork where possible for the duration of the Hire.
