Our studios at Hackney Downs Studios East Hall is a large studio space measuring 1164 square feet split across two floors, with 862 sq.ft. on the ground and 302 sq.ft. on the mezzanine level. Ideal for teams of up to 50.
The shooting area of the studio boasts high ceilings which presents an opportunity to cater for bigger commercial shoots.

When booking with Little Big Studios, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Payment for the studio hire must be made in full in order to confirm your booking. A booking will not be confirmed and dates of hire will not be secured until the invoice balance is cleared and the Terms and Conditions are signed.
Additional extras such as Colorama backdrop use on the floor, lighting equipment, assistant/gaffer, parking permits should be paid on the day.
Payment of additional charges must be made within 14 days from the date of the invoice. We reserve the right to charge statutory interest under the terms of The Late Payments Of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. Any disagreements with the invoice must be raised within 7 working days of the invoice date. In case of such disagreements proportional interest charges will be applicable to the disputed item/s should the 14 days payment period be exceeded. The Hirer agrees to indemnify Little Big Studios in the case of any costs arising from the recovery of any unpaid charges. Little Big Studios reserves the right to place invoice collection with a third party at any time.
Charges for Studio Hire are to be set and agreed in writing before the hire commences. All charges will be subject to V.A.T. of 20%.
Studio hire charges do not include (where applicable) any of the following items or services including (but not limited to) equipment hire, catering supplies, attendance supplement fees, damage and specialist cleaning. Where distinctions between Studio Hire rates occur (depending on the nature of the eventual commercial applications of the photography/film being shot within Little Big Studios i.e. Advertising usage, Editorial usage or other usage types) the Hirer is responsible for giving accurate information towards the type of usage when agreeing these rates so that the correct rates can be applied to the Studio Hire charges. Little Big Studios reserves the right to change these charges should it deem fit if information given by the hirer is inaccurate regarding such usage.
All bookings will be confirmed in writing and signed by an authorised person acting on behalf of the Hirer prior to the studio rental taking place. Little Big Studios reserves the right to refuse to accept any booking. Little Big Studios reserves the right to halt any activity it considers to be other than that for which the premises are intended. Options: 1st options do not guarantee availability until confirmed. Should a 2nd option wish to confirm a booking the 1st option will be notified and given a reasonable amount of time to decide on a confirmation themselves. Written email confirmations will then be followed up by an invoice and a signed contract and which both must be completed in order to confirm the booking. Only signed and paid confirmations can guarantee availability on stated dates.
Changes to your booking
Guests may reschedule their booking of studio hire up until 7 days prior to the booking date. If you would like to alter the date or time of your booking please e-mail us at [email protected] to discuss alternative dates.
Cancellations, refunds and cool off period
Cancellations of confirmed bookings (1st or only specified shoot date) will be subject to the following:
Cool off period - Any booking canceled by the hirer twenty four hours, or fewer, after booking confirmation adheres to the cool off period cancellation policy which merits a full-refund.
Clients may cancel their booking until 7 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund of their booking price.
Clients may cancel their Booking between 7 days and 24 hours before the event start time and receive a 50% refund of their Booking Price.
Cancellations submitted less than 24 hours before the event start time are not refundable.
Damages and cleaning
The Hirer is liable for any damage made to the fabric of the building, fixtures, fittings, furniture or appliances therein or equipment hired throughout the duration of the booking, unless a member of Little Big Studios staff causes such damage. The value of charges for damage will be set to cover the full cost of repair or replacement of such items as appropriate.
General cleaning charges are included in the studio hire charge however should specialist cleaning or repainting of studios be required of any areas then further charges may apply
The client is responsible for the removal of their own rubbish, props, set items and equipment. Bin liners are available and you will be shown where to dispose of your waste. Any large items must be taken with you. Failure to do so will incur a penalty at our discretion of minimum £50+VAT. Please check the brochure for more information regarding location of communal bins and security access codes.
Use of haze, smoke or fog is not allowed, this will incur a penalty of £50+VAT. Penalty for the loss of key and/or fob is £40+VAT.
For security and protection of both hirer and Little Big Studios, CCTV monitoring is in place 24/7.
Personal property and equipment
Little Big Studios cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to any equipment or personal property of the Hirer. No Hirer related property will be covered by any insurance held by Little Big Studios.
Shoot/Event related property, delivery and collections
Deliveries and collections of the Hirers property such as props, equipment, products etc, must be scheduled within the hirer’s booking time. For any item left on the premises after this a charge will be made for storage additional to the daily rental charges. The Hirer must ensure that all such items are insured. No Hirer related items held or stored on Little Big Studios premises would be covered by any insurance held by Little Big Studios whatsoever. Little Big Studios reserves the right to dispose of any item left on the premises from the end of the hire period and charge for this disposal if necessary.
Risk and Liability
The use of Little Big Studios premises and equipment is entirely at the Hirer's risk. The Hirer hereby agrees that Little Big Studios will not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damage, injury or loss to the Hirer, his party or possessions whilst on the premises. Little Big Studios cannot accept liability for loss or damage (including loss of earnings) incurred to the Hirer by circumstances that are out of the reasonable control of Little Big Studios, including (but not limited to) power cuts, fire, flood, acts of God, war, civil disturbance or industrial action.
Should a hirer require to park their vehicle, we offer Hackney Visitors On street Parking Permits for Zone C for a full day at a cost of £10+VAT per permit. Please let us know how many permits you require on the booking form by providing full name, number plate and email for each vehicle.
Public car parks are also available, please check the brochure link attached to your booking for additional information.
Please note that parking is not available on site, however, load in and out can be conducted by driving your vehicle to the entrance gate of the studios.
Viewings, Recces and Pre-Production
Clients will be allowed to view the space once at no extra cost, subsequent viewings of the premises will be considered pre-production prep work. This will be charged the studios hourly rate and scheduled depending on studio availability.
Booking starts at scheduled booking appointment time not at time of arrival. Setting up, packing, cleaning up and leaving the premises must be completed within scheduled booking time. If you wish to extend your booking time, please communicate this to the studio manager as soon as possible so we can attempt to accommodate you at the regular hourly studio price. Overrunning your allocated booking time by any amount will incur an additional penalty charge.
Front of house and communal areas
The studios are located within a community of 200 creative spaces and businesses, please be respectful with our neighbours and note:
Communal areas, such as reception, the stairs, kitchens and corridors are not our property, please be extremely respectful when using these and minimize the length of time you are in these areas. Hallways are not storage or meeting areas, all equipment and personal belongings must remain inside the confines of the studio at all times. Front of house do not deal with incoming food deliveries so these must be managed by the hirer themselves.
Noise must be kept to a reasonable level. The playing of music at extremely high volume is not permitted. Little Big Studios management will at their sole discretion decide what constitutes a reasonable level of volume.
