The Hanging Gate is an old Drovers pub, with a history of hospitality stretching over 400 years. Situated in Higher Sutton, on the outskirts of a village 3 miles east of Macclesfield, the second highest pub in Cheshire, the Hanging Gate enjoys spectacular views across the Cheshire Plain. Dating from 1621, this is a proper rustic pub with low ceilings and beams, original stone-flagged floors and open fires.
